Mechanical Behavior and Frost-Resistance of Alkali-Activated Cement Concrete with Blended Binder at Ambient Curing Condition

Concrete is the most commonly used construction material because of its various advantages, such as versatility, familiarity, strength, and durability, it will continue to be in demand far into future. However, with today’s sensitivity environmental protection, this faces unprecedented challenges high greenhouse gas emissions, mainly during cement production. This paper investigates one promising replacement materials, alkali-activated (AAC) concrete. Being produced from byproduct materials having a comparable structural performance conventional concrete, AAC concrete can transform industry. Mechanical properties compressive flexural strength relationship between them are studied. Different source fly ash (FA), ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), silica fume (SF), Metakaolin (MK) used. The effect activator solutions on Furthermore, freeze-thaw resistance study results showed that behavior depends highly combinations type alkaline solution also dependent Mixes higher GGBS content highest while mixes MK strength. test proper design lower water critical achieving good resistance.
